Manchester United has recently secured the services of a couple of exciting players in the form of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera. The fans of the club are quite happy with these new signings and so are the other players of the team.
The two prominent players of the Red Devils’ squad i.e. Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young have given warm welcome to the above mentioned two guys.
Young wrote on a social networking site, “I am very happy with the arrival of the new boys Ander and Luke and I want to welcome them with open arms. Really, can’t wait to meet them.”
While, Rooney, who is recovering from a disastrous World Cup journey with England, wrote, “Luke Shaw comes to United. He’s a great bloke and a terrific player. Welcome boy.”
The Red Devils are rumoured to have spent a lot of bucks to bring Shaw and Herrera at Old Trafford.
The arrival of a defender at United was inevitable after the release of Rio Ferdinand. However, rather than going for an experienced one, the United management decided to invest in a raw, young talent in Shaw.
As far as Herrera is concerned, he has been bought to give some boost to the midfield of United which was looking very weak in the last season.
Herrera’s arrival means that Young would have to fight hard for playing opportunities now. The 28-year Old Englishman was not a regular for the Red Devils in the last season either but, he had got a few games, 20 to be precise. But, this time around, he might struggle to get that many games with Herrera being there.
In his 3-year old Manchester United career so far, Young has played only 64 Premier League matches in which he has scored 8 goals.
