Andres Iniesta claims that Barcelona are very keen on extending their unbeaten run of 39 matches.
The Catalan club have become even more powerful under the regime of Luis Enrique. The former Barcelona midfielder has managed to find a way for the likes of Neymar, Luis Enrique, and Lionel Messi to play in the same team without losing the defensive strength. In fact, attack has become the biggest source of defence for Barcelona in the 2015-16 campaign. They have managed to stay unbeaten even when having some difficult games in the Champions League along the way.
Iniesta now says that the players are very keen on extending this record and possibly creating a world record. The Spanish midfielder will be aware that this record will get tough to defend in the coming weeks. This is especially true after the international break when the team has to take on the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the league and Champions League respectively. If the Catalan club continue on this form, they can wrap up the league title in some style. Even though they have been unbeaten for a long time, this has been an unusual season for Barcelona domestically since they have already had four draws and two losses.
"Thirty-seven games without losing is astonishing, and we want to extend it further. We’re going to try to keep our winning streak in the league, because it will help bring us the title. We didn’t let our opponents breathe and taking an early lead made it easier,” said Iniesta."We are in great form, and we hope it stays that way. We know every game is important and if we don’t give it our all, all our opponents become dangerous. We have to stay the course to remain confident for the Champions League,” said Sergi Samper.
