Griezmann started the recent league meeting against Leganes on the road but he could not make much of a difference and was replaced by Arturo Vidal, who eventually scored the winning goal. The Blaugrana went 1-0 down after the opening 12 minutes but they managed to make a strong second half comeback with Luis Suarez and Vidal on the scoresheet.
With the victory, they have been able to hold onto the top spot in the Spanish top-flight ahead of Real Madrid by a slender goal difference. The Blaugrana will shift to Champions League action in midweek where they have a home game against Borussia Dortmund. Thereafter, they are expected to face Atletico Madrid on the road in La Liga and the match should attract plenty of interest with Diego Simeone’s side generally difficult to beat on their home patch. Atleti currently have the joint-best defensive record with just nine goals conceded from 14 games.
