Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has said that he is extremely confident that the club can reclaim the title from Real Madrid this season. Barcelona lost the la Liga title after three years of winning the title in succession.
Real Madrid were able to get the title away from Barcelona after being successful during the course of the season. Andres Iniesta reckons that he does not due to the loss of hunger, but it was simply due to the fact that Real Madrid were better than them. Now completed refreshed and ready for the new season, the Spanish midfielder has said that he is eager to reclaim the title from Real Madrid.
Andres Iniesta once again regained his status as one of the best midfielders in the world after a scintillating performance at the Euro 2012. He was undoubtedly the player of the tournament at the Euro 2012. He is the favourite to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or award this season, although he will be facing stiff competition from his Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, who scored 73 goals in all competitions last season. Barcelona will also be looking to reclaim the Champions League title from Chelsea as well. It is a competition they have been hugely successful in the last few seasons.
"We will try to beat the champions. Trying to beat Real Madrid to win the league again is a real incentive. It gives us extra motivation. Now it's our turn to try and wrestle the title away from them. It is important for us because it is the first title, against the current league champions. But the Supercopa will not affect the season. Obviously the aim is to win it, to do as well as possible. It is part of our preparations over these two months," said Iniesta ahead of the new season.
